Temporal Synthesis for Bounded Systems and Environments

چکیده
Temporal synthesis is the automated construction of a system from its temporal specification. It is by now realized that requiring the synthesized system to satisfy the specifications against all possible environments may be too demanding, and, dually, allowing all systems may be not demanding enough; systems and environments that are too large may not be feasible in practice. In this work we study bounded temporal synthesis, in which bounds on the sizes of the state space of the system and the environment are additional parameters to the synthesis problem. This study is motivated by the fact that such bounds may indeed change the answer to the synthesis problem, as well as the theoretical and computational aspects of the synthesis problem. In particular, a finer analysis of synthesis, which takes system and environment sizes into account, yields deeper insight into the quantificational structure of the synthesis problem and the relationship between strong synthesis – there exists a system such that for all environments, the specification holds, and weak synthesis – for all environments there exists a system such that the specification

A Novel Method for Measuring the Quality of Temporal Integration in Public Transport Systems
Temporal coordination of services, as a crucial aspect of integration in public transport systems, has always been a big concern for transit planners and schedulers. One of the major issues in the way of coordinating transit services is the lack of a robust measure of effectiveness for assessing the quality of temporal coordination in public transport systems. Even though the network-wide summa...
متن کاملEncodings of Bounded Synthesis
The reactive synthesis problem is to compute a system satisfying a given specification in temporal logic. Bounded synthesis is the approach to bound the maximum size of the system that we accept as a solution to the reactive synthesis problem. As a result, bounded synthesis is decidable whenever the corresponding verification problem is decidable, and can be applied in settings where classic sy...
متن کاملSwitching fuzzy modelling and control scheme using T-S fuzzy systems with nonlinear consequent parts
This paper extends the idea of switching T-S fuzzy systems with linear consequent parts to nonlinear ones. Each nonlinear subsystem is exactly represented by a T-S fuzzy system with Lure’ type consequent parts, which allows to model and control wider classes of switching systems and also reduce the computation burden of control synthesis. With the use of a switching fuzzy Lyapunov function, the...
متن کاملA Logic for Normative Time-Bounded Services
Traditional systems of temporal and action logics lack of an explicit representation of some desirable features in service-oriented environments, such as time and norms. In this paper a proposal for a logic which allows service-oriented environments to be formally specified is presented. This logic has been employed for formalizing normative time-bounded services in the THOMAS architecture.
